The Gold of Naples

A walking tour through the ancient city to discovery some of the most precious, hidden treasure of Naples. Starting from the Pio Monte della Misericordia, which was founded by seven young people from Naples in 1601, where it’s possible to admire one’s of  Caravaggio most famous masterpieces. We will visit the Duomo and the treasure of San Gennaro the Patron Saint of Naples who’s blood melts twice a year in front of thousand of venerating neapolitans. Strolling along the Via dei Tribunali which is similar to the old Decumano the Roman city and we will visit some masterpiece such as “Cacciata dei Mercanti dal tempio” of Luca Giordano in the Girolaminis church, the Madonna dell-Arco, the paintings of Mattia Preti in the church of S. Pietro a Maiella, the Cristo Velato of Sammartino in the chapel Sansevero a masterpiece of the first architecture of 1700. The visit will show you until some of the most suggestive sights of palaces and churches in the very heart of the city and it will ends with the visit of the baroque church of Gesù Nuovo. Our Walk will end up in Via Toledo and Piazza del Plebiscito with the great overview of the Palazzo Reale and a spacious view on the gulf of Naples and Vesuvio. We can stop and enjoy a coffee in one of Naples most famous and exclusive Café’s, the Gabrinus, where artists, composers and poets used to gather at the beginning of the XX Century.
