Mario Bernardi
Born and raised in Rome, Mario has also lived in Naples while attending the Military School “Nunziatella”, one of Europe’s oldest Boarding Schools. He holds a MA degree in Aesthetics, the philosophy of Art form the University of Rome ” Tor Vergata” with Professor Mario Perniola.
Mario worked as Museum Assistant for the Italian Ministry of Culture from 1999 to 2008, also working as a freelance Tour Guide since 2002; he is a professional licensed Tour Guide, Tour Leader and Tour Operator Director.
He has written many articles on Italian history and culture, and in 2008 he has taken part in the making of Sky Arts “Suggs Italian Job” and the Road To Civilization – CCTV – The Colosseum, a documentary on the Colosseum by the Chinese State Television.
As a passionate traveller, he has travelled extensively thought Europe, United States and Japan. What he likes to offer to his clients is a tailor-made service, sharing personal knowledge, points of view, and his interest in Art, History and Culture. And Pizza. And Wine, of course.
He has conducted many tours in Rome and all over Italy and now, besides being an exceptional guide, he is the Director of The Grand Tour Europe, providing unique travel experiences to passionate travellers. Mario has won many awards and professional acknowledgements, including the Viator Private Guides Award in 2014, Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for several years, and a few others listed in the Awards session of this website
