The Tower of London Castle was built nearly a thousand years ago to protect and later intimidate the citizens of London. Most famous for the site of many executions, including  two of Henry VIII’s wives. Home to the Crown Jewels which includes the Sovereign’s Sceptre with cross which has the largest colourless cut diamond in the world. The White Tower is the famous castle keep and an iconic symbol of London, it is a fine example of Norman Architecture and houses a collection of arms and armour. Over 100 people still live here, the Yeoman Warders or “Beefeaters” and their families.

Westminster Abbey is older than the Tower of London and is the site of the coronation for English monarch and has been for the past ten centuries. Britain’s memorial church is the home of a number of tombs, including a Saint, thirty Kings and Queens and nearly three and a half thousand others, including Newton, Darwin, Dickens, Chaucer and Handel. More recently, the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales and the marriage of Prince William & Katherine Middleton have been held here.

St. Paul’s Cathedral is London’s oldest church and has been the foundation to our Christian history for over 1400 years. There are spectacular views of London from the top of the dome, for those who wish to climb the 528 steps.

The Changing of the Guard is an impressive site. We can combine the Horse Guard Change with the more famous Buckingham Palace Mounting the Guard. Allow about 45 minutes to see both. May and early August is usually daily, but every two days the rest of the year. Please note that it can be cancelled at short notice if it is raining or threatening to do so. It wouldn’t be possible to combine this with the “Big Three” in one full day, unless you skip the Tower of London. But it can also be included in a Half Day tour of London.

During this tour we will drive by the other major sights of London, with stops for photo opportunities. The sights include; Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, “Big Ben” and the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
