Shopping and a stroll around Rome – Cruise excursion from Civitavecchia
8:00 am: Pick up just off the Ship (at Civitavecchia port) with a minivan and an English speaking driver. (free wifi). Transfer to Rome city centre.
9:15 am: Meet your guide in Central Rome.
Start the tour with a view of Rome from Janiculum hill. After, you will be driven down to Trastevere and leave the minivan for a walking tour of Viale Trastevere, seeing San Crisogono Church and Undergrounds before visiting Santa Maria Church in Trastevere and Piazza Trilussia.
(Please ensure that you wear clothing that covers your shoulders and is to your knees as you will be entering Churches)
11:15 am: Back in the minivan, you will see Tiberine Island, Pyramid, Aventine Hill and Ghetto. From here you will walk from the Ghetto to Piazza Mattei, along Via dei Giubbonari, seeing Palazzo Spada and Palazzo Farnese. The walking part will finish in Campo de’ Fiori.
1:00 pm: Lunch in Campo dei Fiori.
Campo de’ Fiori: Pizza Bianca & Mortadella, a delicious favourite of slices of ham inside freshly baked pizza bread.
Meal is included in the cost of the tour, so why not try authentic Italian cuisine with a wine (or soft drink).
2:00 pm: Walk to Piazza Navona to the Bus, drive to the Ara Pacis and Augustus Mausoleum, Borghese Gardens, Via Veneto and Stop in Piazza del Popolo (Caravaggios paintings). When in Rome Eat as Roman Do. Try a typical dish of Rome: Supplì (rice balls) in Piazza Navona.
4:15 pm: Back to Civitavecchia.
6:00 pm: Arrival at The Ship.
